Sellout follows Daniyal, a British Pakistani politician whose anti-immigration stance unravels when his grandmother’s death forces him back to the family and faith he’s rejected. Over one day of grief and reckoning, Daniyal must confront the cost of his ambition and whether he’s willing to sacrifice his roots to belong.
Jasmer is an award-winning writer-director focused on authentic, character-driven storytelling. He took an unorthodox route into film, spending his youth as a boxer before turning to filmmaking. He is currently developing his debut feature, Wolves & Sheep, with Greenacre Films and Story Compound, and is writer-director of the forthcoming short film Sellout, funded by the critically acclaimed anthology series The Uncertain Kingdom.
Jasmer's breakout script, White Tiger, won the PAGE International Gold Prize and sold to a Hollywood production company. He has also written the feature Hallfighter, to be directed by Oscar nominee and BAFTA winner Bassel Ghandour. In 2026, he was selected by Abi Morgan for her Little Chick Emerging Writers program and has further projects in development.
