In the Arabic language we often express our affection to loved ones by saying “may you bury me” - in other words: We hope they would outlive us as we couldn’t possibly endure life without them. Four Lebanese women gather in their shared family summer home in Greece. Set in the backdrop of a lazy Mediterranean summer, the women re-count experiences of childbirth, belonging, and of war. Though they all span different ages, chronologies, and points of view, what both the women and their stories share is their connection to Lebanon in some form or another. Together they reclaim these memories through re-interpreted and performed renditions that commemorate parts of their Lebanese identity.
